ABOUT US

peace through health

At Paix Medicine we work in conjunction with your other health care providers to take your care to a deeper and more holistic level. We believe in the body’s “inherent self-healing process”, and we approach this in a very personalized way in order to affect basic lifestyle changes. We do this by arming the body with the proper tools to achieve optimal results and by removing obstacles such as stress and bad habits that hinder the body’s ability to heal itself. This is why we work with all aspects of health, including mental, emotional and behavioral.

Whatever your individual goals may be, we offer you a unique, thorough, and often unconventional approach to achieving them. We find that before coming to us, most people have tried the more conventional options without achieving the results they desire. We pride ourselves on our personal and caring approach, and consider ourselves both educators and facilitators, guiding you to do the work it requires to improve your health. We view health with a big-picture mentality. We do not offer a one-sized-fits-all program. We will work with you to customize a treatment plan that works for your individual needs.

OUR DOCTORS

Although Dr. Lutzi ND and Dr. Dudek ND are both San Diego natives and even attended the same high school (Torrey Pines High School) they didn’t meet until they were both students at Bastyr University in Kenmore, Washington; one of eight accredited naturopathic medical schools in North America. The two quickly became friends and were roommates for four years while they completed their education. During this time, when they didn’t have their heads in the books, they had their heads in the clouds, dreaming of the clinic they would one day open together. Today, that dream has become a reality in Paix Medicine.

what to expect –

YOUR FIRST VISIT

At your first visit you will do a thorough medical history, focusing on the areas which matter most to you. Our aim is to treat the whole person and to identify the causes rather than just chase symptoms. This requires that we get to know you and your personal history, which is why we spend a full hour with you at your first visit. After the intake, we decide which lab testing needs to be done, including blood, saliva, urine and/or stool tests, which will aid us in our detective process to uncover the root causes of your symptoms and also develop a customized treatment plan.

what to expect –

FOLLOW UP VISIT

It typically takes 2-4 weeks for all lab results to be returned and analyzed. We will have another hour-long follow up visit, during which we explain to you our findings, and decide upon your individual treatment plan.

“The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will interest her patient in the care of the human frame, in diet and in the cause and prevention of disease.”

NATUROPATHIC MEDICINE

The Healing Power of Nature

Naturopathic medicine recognizes an inherent self-healing process in people that is ordered and intelligent. Naturopathic physicians act to identify and remove obstacles to healing and recovery, and to facilitate and augment this inherent self-healing process.

Identify & Treat the Causes

The naturopathic physician seeks to identify and remove the underlying causes of illness rather than to merely eliminate or suppress symptoms.

First Do No Harm

Three guidelines to avoid harming the patient: 1) Utilize methods and medicinal substances which minimize the risk of harmful side effects, using the least force necessary to diagnose and treat. 2) Avoid when possible the harmful suppression of symptoms. 3) Acknowledge, respect, and work with individuals’ self-healing process.

Doctor As Teacher

Naturopathic physicians educate their patients and encourage self-responsibility for health. They also recognize and employ the therapeutic potential of the doctor-patient relationship.

Treat The Whole Person

Treat each patient by taking into account individual physical, mental, emotional, genetic, environmental, social, and other factors. Since total health also includes spiritual health, naturopathic physicians encourage individuals to pursue their personal spiritual development.

Prevention

Emphasize the prevention of disease by assessing risk factors, heredity and susceptibility to disease, and by making appropriate interventions in partnership with their patients to prevent illness.

the therapeutic order –

7 TENETS OF
NATUROPATHY

The Therapeutic Order is a hierarchy that governs a naturopathic doctor’s clinical decision-making. It begins by offering minimally invasive therapies aimed at supporting the body and ends in more invasive procedures such as chemical therapies and surgery.
